I just replaced the original battery in my 2010 GS. Was still working fine but I knew I was probably pushing my luck. Replaced it with another Delco. Yes, it was a major PITA!! Should have gotten one of those straps. It would have helped but as others said, still not easy. Maybe other brands of batteries are slightly smaller? 1/4-inch would make all the difference.
I will be changing my Delco battery probably next week. Battery code shows P 090R which translates to September 2010. I bought the car November 2017. I have kept it on a CTEK 3300 since I got the car last year.
Jump starting a weak battery places a tremendous strain on the alternator while it charges up the dead battery!
Douglas in Green Bay
And....you must have another battery to jump from. Lots of folks will not volunteer for that any longer. So, while you are standing by the road, or at the gas station, at night, you probably should have a weapon, too.

Get a new battery, AND carry cables.
Down my way people are always willing to help...No weapon needed.
My'13 had the original battery and had no problems then last month it was dead after filling car with gas, completely dead in matter of minutes with no warning, luckily an AutoZone was next door so I bought a Duralast battery & they installed it on the spot, I would advise you to change it sooner rather than later ...if it's in the cubby hole like mine there is not much room to get the old one out the guy from AutoZone had all the proper tools to do the job, saved me the hassle..

I miss the good ol’ days when car batteries took weeks if not months to die. They slow cranked until you just couldn’t take it any longer. They never died without giving you plenty of warning!

That is great to hear, and what I would expect from Corpus. But, since one never knows where you will be when it dies, it is better to replace than the hope for a kind soul to help you out.
Folks in Las Vegas are also pretty nice, probably a lot nicer than you would think. But, we have an element of people who are here today, gone tomorrow, often on less-than-legal endeavors, and one has to be aware of that.

I know what you mean about Vegas...Been there and worked there years ago, very high crime there with the gangs coming out of CA.Like I said i have had five batteries since new in 2008.A lot of the jump starting was my fault when working on it i would leave both doors open with music on and it does not take long to run the battery down to not have enough current to fire it up,so i would jump it from my other car.My vette will not crank if battery voltage goes down below 11.5 volts.
Just replaced the original battery in my 2012 GS, my 2011 F150 and the 2013 Equinox! The GS battery did not have a date sticker on it but pretty sure it was original GM. I knew the others were original as I bought them new!
It was somewhat fun trying to come up with a solution to get it out of there.
The best we found was putting a tie down strap underneath; you can slide it under once loosened. One guy manned the strap ends and the other guided it out. It takes a bit of force. Why couldn't GM have made that opening just an inch bigger?
