Yup, but at least back in C6 days (not sure about C7) it was hard coded not to exceed a year. My point was that if mileage is low due to the seldom driven rather than short trips reason, you don’t have to change at a year just because of the OLM’s hard stop at a year. The prior statement assumes out of warranty because going past OLM could potentially give warranty issues if GM found out.

I think you have that backwards. The c6 does not 0 out at a year, so you can go beyond the year and still see what the OLM thinks about the oil. Note, GM does not recommend going past a year regardless of the OLM. In the C7, the OLM will 0 out in a year even if not driven.
