Yup, but at least back in C6 days (not sure about C7) it was hard coded not to exceed a year. My point was that if mileage is low due to the seldom driven rather than short trips reason, you don’t have to change at a year just because of the OLM’s hard stop at a year. The prior statement assumes out of warranty because going past OLM could potentially give warranty issues if GM found out.

If you use a quality synthetic oil, you can run some ridiculous mileage intervals (assuming a normal driving style, no track days). However, the limiting factor is the oil filter. All things considered, I change oil in my cars and bikes at 6000 mike intervals. The oil could go much longer but I want a fresh filter.
