VX GM Nano tool (mdi clone) will run tech2win, GDS2, Tis2000 on laptop, as well as TDS on line (all car years at $40 per vin for 24 months each) for SPS flashing (hence covers you for any GM car all the way up to current models).
With hand held Tech II clone, it come pre loaded with Tech2win software on board (only up to 2013 cars for the most part), can be used with Tis2000 (cars up to 2009 for firmware flashing) and TDS on line in pass through, but can not be used with GDS2 software (its the reason that GM dumped them and when to the MDI tool with the laptop running the programs instead.
As for Tech II hand held, or just MDI clone like the Nano, prefer the nano (mdi clone), since the last two programs above are computer based, and with the hand held tech II cone unit, have to pick up an after market USB cable to run it with a laptop (Nano already comes with USB cable. Plus, even the MDI 1 clone is faster than a Tech II hand held when it comes to data transfer speeds.
So to sum it up, either tool will work with the C6 since it can be used with all the needed software, and it's really more about what software you need to use to do what on the car in the end. As for TDS on line, it's software is always changing, including How many times A/C delco will allow you to flash modules per subscription period before they cancel your account before the 24 months period is up (count on just one flash per module only per subscription), and why I tend to use unlimited Tis2000 when I can instead.
Help will be greatly appreciated.
The once the software is downloaded, you log back into TDS to use SPS again with the software, when you get to the part that is pulls down the car's Vin number to SPS, make dam sure its the correct vin number of the car before clicking next, since that is what the subscription is going to get locked to for that $40.
