Default tele wheel/seat memory function not working

The memory function for the steering wheel and driver’s seat in my 2007 manual tranny coupe stopped working. When I press the memory button on the door (with the handbrake handle up) nothing happens. I then manually adjust the wheel and seat while the car is running, and when I turn off the car and open the driver’s door the wheel moves itself toward the dash and the seat moves back and down to their original positions. I pulled the fuse and it looks OK.

Anyone had this problem and fixed it?

The Memory Seat Module (MSM), located under the seat, controls both of those. Check it and all the connections related to it.

The MSM is referenced in the Tech 2 as the driver position module (DPM).

Just to be clear, are you loading the new set position to memory by pushing and holding button one or two until it beeps? (I'm only asking because you didn't describe this step in the process.)

Can I check connections without removing the seat? It looks pretty tight under there.
Also, what is Tech 2?

I only set the seat position once, when I bought the car in 2007. Since then it has worked perfectly.

Your response got me to thinking that I should try the original programming again, which I haven't done since 2007. At first I set the wheel, seat and mirrors at my desired settings and pressed and held button one. Nothing happened, no beeps. Same thing with button two. Then I turned the car on and with the engine running ran through the same drill. This time it worked! Button one beeped twice and all is well now. So, thanks for your response!

The engine must be on, or the vehicle must be in accessory mode to change memory settings. You will probably find that your a/c, radio, and most things will not function without the engine on, or in accessory mode....
