Guys I have not been on this C6 site since I got my 15. I did a quick look around and did not see what INFO I needed.
A know it all person I know tells me that have been lots of problems in C6s, due to the car starting by its self. Like in a garage or parked somewhere. Now I have never heard anything like that and to be honest doubt it, but heck with electronics anything is possible.
Tell me this person is full of chit and I will have some good ammo to go after him with. He is sort of a Cliff Claven want to be.
I seem to remember a thread a few (?) months ago wherein an owner was saying his car started by itself. I don't remember the particulars, or a conclusion.
There must be a key fob inside the car for the engine to start. Tell this to your know-it-all friend and see what he says. I'm guessing he'll try to change the subject.

I had 2 C6s but like I said this guy is a know it all. He is not a car guy, but I put it out here for ***** and giggles.
Thanks everybody for your answers, hopefully it gave you a bit of a laugh!------

Yup, first & only report of such behavior IIRC too.
99% are rumors & flat out silly, other 1% flat out bullshit.
Of all the potential problems that can happen across the broad range of Corvettes, ghost starting by itself is probably the lowest on the list of potential.
I mean, he has a wealth of reasons to crap on a Corvette. He could have used any of:
Locks people in the car (dead fob battery)
Engines blow up (harmonic balancer)
Gas Cap Falls Off (gas cap light)
Fails On Track (service active handling soon warning)
Hmmm ... i'm sure there's lots of other joke reasons you can complain about the Corvette ...
