I'm sure this topic has been all but beaten to death here but... I was all set to get the one that goes inline under the car (next to the M6) then I see this fuse with apparently a resistor in it that does the same thing. Seems the way to go, maybe too easy but I have to ask if I should get the 'fuse' or go with the inline wire harness even tho it's more of a PIA to install? Anyone have experience with the fuse style? BTW: 2013 GS

Thanks Fellas
I installed the fuse fix about a month ago. No problems...
OK, is there a general consensus on a certain brand or place to purchase said 'fuse'?
I went to Autozone because it was down the street, and got a multi-pack (10 maybe?) Any 10amp miniblade "smart fuse" should work. Between the blades should be a small opening, i dug my pocket knife in there and brake the link on the fuse.

So all you need is a 10 amp fuse that lights when blown (smart fuse), and not a special one with a resistor built in like I've seen? Also, does it go in under hood box or passenger floor mat box?
I bought a fuse off of ebay when I got my '05 and had it in for the 4 years I owned the car with no problems whatsoever. Fearing any tomfoolery by any service tech, I always kept the OEM 10A fuse in the console and swapped them out as necessary.
Not a fan of the blown safety fuse, since over time the LED light will burn out and the car will throw codes.
So 10amp fuse swapped with a home made 2.2ohm resistor fuse is the better solution.
Again, click the link before and shows you have to break the fuse link on a 10amp fuse, to solder in a 2.2ohm resistor isntead.
Also, the link shows you the location of where to replace the 10amp fuse with the 2.2ohm resistor fuse.
