Default Help, key FOBs programming problems

Hi folks. Long story, ended up with two FOBs not working, replaced batteries in both... nothing. Have tried the long method with both several times. Each time get the correct msgs (ready to learn) from the DIC (however I do get a msg no FOB detected at the start of the 3 sequences).

At the end of the 3rd sequence the DIC immediately goes to the program key 1 msg. Leaving FOB in holder, I sit there 5+ minutes, and then suddenly the display goes away, no beeps no other msgs. I take the FOB out, nothing. Have left door and truck lid up, FOB key in truck receiver, each time. Double/triple check for correct placement. Hit the unlock button on each programmed FOB upon pulling it out and exiting car. No other FOBs or cell phone in garage during this time...

What am I doing wrong/missing. At this rate I’ll wear out the seat!

You say "nothing" but what does that mean? Do you get a No FOB Detected on the DIC? Do you get nothing on the DIC? Does the car try to start?
Have you tried to start the car with the fob in the glove box slot? If the fobs were working before you should not need to do any reprogramming. They don't suddenly forget the car. It's almost always a battery/car battery problem.

Nothing is happening once the 3 sequence are done and program FOB 1 msg, that’s goes on for 5+min

The no FOB detected precedes each sequence.

Nothing happens when FOB is left in slot. No start.

Bad slot? There is a slot testing procedure you're supposed to do before you try reprogramming.

I’ll look again for that testing procedure, BTW car will not start with either FOB in slot.

Tried the testing method, got wrong msg from the start. Immediately saw the autolearn wait 10 min vice the ready to learn FOB 1. Likely because I have no working FOBs at the moment?

Double check on which way you place the fob in the slot, first time I did procedure I had it facing the wrong way in the slot and ended up with the same results as you.
7. Put new unprogrammed fob in slot by glovebox with buttons facing right (passenger) side and keyring facing outwards.

Here's a link to the programming instructions. I think there's a section in there for how to test the slot.

This is exactly what happened to me when trying to program my fobs. Turned out it was a two-part problem. The first part was the batteries in the fobs. They were supposedly "brand new" in the package when I bought them from the parts store, but they turned out to be bad. I ended up having to get a set from Wal Mart as they turn their batteries faster than a parts store does. The second part was the antenna on my fob slot was just not recognizing the fob was there. I had to pull the glove box frame and lay the fob directly on top of the antenna to get it to finally program.

Thanks to one and all, the rumbling in the background is my vette. The answer was found here: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...post1577845892 the answer was inserting the top of the FOB first, inserting with the key pointing out.

I am a happy man right now it’s happy hour somewhere!
