Be thankful they don't spin. Perfect for the stoplight grand prix.

The Conti extremes are pretty good tires from what little I have heard from my nephew. He has them on his 12 CTS-V. He can still definitely smoke them off though. Enjoy the new ride.

What year is it and do you have the 4 speed or 6 speed paddle shift? If you have the six speed 6L80E it always starts off in 2nd gear in automatic mode. The only way to get it to take off in 1st is to use Sport mode and downshift to first with the paddle.

Be careful turning off the traction and stability control since you can find yourself going down the road sideways or backwards fairly quickly.

The S is sport mode, the closest position to you. The paddle shifters only work in sport mode. If you operate a paddle in sport mode and have a head up display it will show the gear number in the HUD as well as your DIC.

The 2005 C6 had a 4 speed automatic. The 6 speed was introduced in 2006 and went through a couple of upgrades in 2007 and 2008 to improve shifting.

Don't forget that after you put it in sport mode you must hit a down or up shift paddle to activate it. At least in mine.

that's how my '08 was, windy, but at some point, they changed it, possibly 2010.

I now have a 2012, and can access paddles in either S or D, and the car also shifts automatically in either S or D. So, it seems to be redundant, unless there is something special about S...like higher shift rpm, learning mode, etc.

i know I can look up the diff, but have not done so yet.

You have had it for two days, and you haven't painted the rims black yet? Everyone knows that will make your car faster.
