Just for a change I swapped the cue ball style shift **** onto my MGW shifter. I still like the stock shift ****, but this one definitely sits a little bit lower.
When I ordered my MGW I bought both threaded and stock shafts, as I was not sure at the time what **** I was going to use. With the threaded shaft you can adjust the height of the **** to your liking. I like the higher effort/shorter throw of the **** lower, but a few years ago I had arm/wrist/elbow surgery and had to raise the **** to lessen the shift effort.

I've always loved the look and feel of the cue ball style ****.
no matter how or where you grab it, it feels good.
I got one from corvette mods, white with red script shift pattern & C6 corvette printed on the side.
I don't see the asterisks! I see the word which we should because that's what it is called! Maybe it was vetted by the mods?
Anyway, I got the MGW and their ball shifter as seen in the photo above. It's really good though the aluminum insert does collect grime and is not that easy to clean so it looks pristine.
I like the look of the Hurst in the photo. Nice clean look. A definite improvement!
I'd like to install the Hurst "T" shifter on my 6 speed manual, but don't know if the universal kits you see on eBay will fit. will I need to buy the threaded shifter assembly as well?
Problem is the weight of the solid pool table ball shifter *****, and on some shifters, can cause a lot of rattling noise in the shifter itself.
Also, I don't shift with my palm on the top of the ball, but my palm to the right hand side of the **** instead (how the MGW shifters are designed to shift, since you working the gate side tensions to tell you while shift gate line path you are in), so wide broom stick type shifter ***** tend to work better with the MGW shifters isntead.
As far as im concerned a ball shifter is the only way to roll... For anyone interested Twisted Shifterz has a great selection of shift ***** for the C6.
