OP- there are 2 Sat antennas in the C6. 1 in each mirror. Find a place with good Sat reception and then unplug one of them from the tuner (there's a green one and a yellow/orange one). The tuner is easy to find.

It may be that only the antenna in the passenger mirror is still connected and when they did the repair to your driver's door they screwed this up.

SIRIUS-XM is one company now but there are still some differences.

XM Satellites are parked in stationary orbit above the equator.

SIRIUS Satellites are in orbit running from pole to pole, so you have a better chance of having a satellite directly overhead, especially in northern states.

SIRIUS uses a less destructive algorithm for digital transmission from their Sat's than XM, so the SIRIUS audio quality is better.

Cars with big metal roof/trunks with Sat antennas mounted to them are going to get better reception than a C6. Apples and oranges.

I have an aftermarket SIRIUS tuner in my C6 using only the yellow/orange OEM Sat antenna. Out in rural areas, most of the time I get no dropouts even under dense tree canopies. The ground-based repeater(s) in Seattle work so well that I even get reception in our parking garage at the stadium.

Of course YMMV.
