Default OE replicas

Just wanted to let people know, I purchased a set of staggard 18x9.5 and 19x10 black z06 style wheels from oewheelsllc for $577. Damn cheap. I took 3 months researching, trying to figure out the best fitment/price/ weight and quality for my 2013 vette before pulling the trigger. I wanted forgestar cf5 wheels but didnt want to spend 1400 on wheels alone.

Anyway, i have purchased the exact same set of wheels from bob at house of wheels for my old 98 z28 years ago, i'm positive they are from the same original distributor.. house of wheels is just way more expensive...

The wheels are great quality, structure holds up for a long period and finish is fine. HOWEVER, they weigh about 4-5 pounds more than a stock c6 wheel.. i think most of oewheelsllc replicas are about 5 to 6 pounds heavier than a stock wheel depending on the year. My stock wheels are about 23# front and 25# rear. These replicas are about 27# front and 29# rear.

To even out on weight, i replaced my runflats with a non-runflat tire which saved me from 3-4 pounds each thinking it would even it out.

After installing the new set up today i did notice a little lag in throttle response. I tried to avoid it but I think i still gained a little weight, i'm assuming no more than 2 pounds per tire. Its not really that drastic but id say it will slow me down a tenth of a second in the qm. But overall very happy with the price and I dont miss the run flats at all. Way too stiff. OEwheelsllc is good quality. Just a tad on the heavier side. Just an honest review. I would reccomend if you on on a budget wanting new wheels! If you pockets are deep go with a lighter wheel to get more pep! Also, these wheels have more of an agrwssive stqnce than my stock thin 5 spokes . They line up perfect with the fenders.

Looks really good! Too bad the OE wheels website doesnt let me specify GS for searching their wheel selection. Doesnt look like they carry wheels in 19x12

Hey i figured it would help someone else! I'm running a 275/35/18 tire up front and 285/35/19 tire in back. No fitment or rubbing issues on the narrow body base model. Best of luck

I can say I did a helluva lot of research re OEWheels LLC* many years ago for my C4 LT4 and was the second person to confirm and buy from them in our forum (on here). Stand up company, knows their stuff, wheels of good quality for a cast wheel. As to weight, while mine were a non-stock design, most of us knew that the wheels were slightly more weight but not even by 4lbs./wheel. Of course, very different design and size from C7 which may account for some of the difference!!!! Still, the added weight was actually quite minimal. From what I know, my '96 LT4 is still running on those wheels. I'd buy wheels from them any time.
* used to be similarly named, OE Wheels of Sarasota (FL).

However ... None of the wheels sold by 'OE Wheels LLC' will fit the C6 Z06 or GS

They are all made for the base model C6s

eBay has a 10% off coupon for some items right now and some of the OE wheels sold by JEGS qualify. Just follow the link on the eBay homepage.

So, you were able to tell a difference in throttle response based on a net 8 pound increase in wheel weight? You should be driving for NASCAR!!
