I have a 07 Indy Pace Car with a Z51 package. I am having issues when I try to put my power top down, At first it starts to open. Deck lid starts to open 1/3 of the way up and top is about 2 feet off the windshield. All stops. I can push the button and tops and deck goes down. I have tried the flap in the trunk removed it and put it back. Same scenario and suggestions or what to trouble shoot
Could be one of the many micro switches is bad. They tell the computer where the various parts are in the up/down process. You might have to go to dealer for a Tech2 diagnosis. I don't think the lesser code readers used by the major parts stores, like Autozone, will read those codes, but might be worth a try to stop by and ask. Let us know what happens.

You might want to check the relief valve. This is the valve you open if the power top fails and you need to operate the top manually. The hex key that came with the car fits it. There is a lock nut on the relief valve. If the nut is loose, it is possible for the relief valve to partially open. The assembly is under the carpet behind the passenger's headrest.

Thanks for the suggestions and I will check them out today and get back. I did a Google search and watched a Utube vidieo and according to the video there are 2 straps behind the passenger side and drivers side the pulls up rear window. These straps over the years stretch out and need to be replaced or shortened. I will also check this out but watching the video surely looked like my issue

If you think the rear window is getting stuck on the deck lid, you can reach back as it starts to go down and pull the window towards the front of the car and the deck lid will clear. Most of them just bump it with a dull thump sound and go on through the cycle. I have not heard of one being stuck. My 2008's top has been hitting for a year or more, so I just reach back and pull so it doesn't hit going up or down. Too old and lazy to try to tighten those straps.

YUP....The ol C-6 auto top 2 finger pull back !!!!......been doing it for about 6 years now.....Thanks GM.
Yesterday I broke down and took the C6 to a local top shop since I wasn't up to working on straps if that were the case. They diagnosed the issue that the rear of the trunk lid wasn't sitting correctly and when I tried to put the top down it interferes with the deck lid going up when top started going down. Fix was he realigned the trunk lid adjusted the top. He did say to pull the rear glass in when putting top down to avoid the glass hitting the deck. Changing the straps would help but not necessay for now. I guess my next fix if I want is to have hin change straps. Fix wasn't exoensive $90 and maybe 1 1/2 hrs. All works fine so for now will pull glass in when I put down my top..thanks for all the great trouble shoots
My glass was getting hit when the top was going up or down. I removed the tiny screw and moved it upstream, shorter, about a 1/2" and all is well for now.
Accessing the screw requires the flexibility of a gymnast though!!
