Supercharged engine with other engine mods.
previous post has engine upgrades.
Just wondering if any of these changes will cause me problems with passing emissions testing.
Current state car is registered does not require it.
THANKS
If CT has a visual equipment check requirement, it will not pass. In such a check, they are looking for modified exhaust systems. If the car needs only to pass the sniff test, and have no codes, then if it passes both, it will be okay. You know the CT requirements better than we do...
CT for cars newer then 1996 just hooks into the OBD on the car and ties in to the computer to check how engine is running.
Not exactly sure how/what it looks at but I assume its emission related data.
No actual physical sniff test or review for engine/exhaust mods.
If computer says its good, your good to go.
Based on that do you think I should be good to go.
If that is the case, you should be okay. But, it would be pretty easy for you to go to any Quik Smog Test station and ask the personnel what the complete criteria is. They will tell you, and you will not have to be concerned.
I was planning on checking with the place I normally go to and even express my concerns before proceeding with purchase.
Im also planning on having owner take it in to be tested at a garage in Iowa.
Hopefully the two tests are similiar or they do both OBD and sniff test.
Thanks for all the advice.
What's your thoughts on the trans and diff with the supercharger puting out 615 at crank and 522 at the wheels.
Can it take it if I'm just a casual speedaholic.
No plans for track or dragstrip.

Sounds like a solid first step eliminating guessing.

Honestly haven't heard of any places using sniff tests, anymore.
A simple quick check of OBDII is all being done these days, CT also.
Of course there could be exceptions but checking will answer this.

For the type of usage planned, betting it'll be just fine providing it passes a 'sound' & driving/feel check.
FWIW from '06 forward transmission casting was beefed-up vs a few '05 failures due solely to heavy shock from racing.
If properly maintained w/ fresh fluid it's likely solid.
