So my 2005 base is getting no power at all. Won't lock/unlock, go to accessory, nothing. I have cleaned the terminals and checked the battery ( 1 year old AC Delco). Mods consist of vararam intake, cam, lg long tubes and x pipe. I've read about the steering column lock (mine is unlocked) being a problem. Also have read about the starter solenoid getting too hot from long tubes. Any help?
Well since no one else has chimed in yet, how about a bad / broken / disconnected ground? An easy check would be to measure the voltage across the battery terminals, and then measure the voltage from the +ve terminal to a grounding point on the frame or engine. If the ground is OK, you should get the same voltage reading. Alternatively, you can measure the resistance from the -ve terminal to a grounding point. You should get 0 ohms resistance, or very close to it. If it is a ground problem, there are a number of posts on the forum on how to correct that.
After checking the battery a second time, it only read 2v. I hooked it up to a charger and it said it would not take a charge. I purchased a new battery and everything worked fine. It was weird because the first time I checked it, it was fine. Ill see if it becomes a reoccurring problem. Thanks everyone!
