Default Best sub-woofer?

Any recommendations for a very good sub-woofer and amp? I already have the front speakers replaced.
Thanks.

JL Stealthbox subs are the way to go. If you have a convertible, I just pulled mine and the JL amplifier out of my C6 that I am selling. I am in the Charlotte metro area - PM me if you are interested.

Are you replacing the front subwoofers, or adding a subwoofer and enclosure?

I'm a big rockford fosgate fan. JL is great as well, so is Kicker. Theres a ton of good options out there, comes down to tour budget.

Good replacements for the front subwoofers are much harder to come by.

Yes best maybe those JL cubby hole box speaker enclosures.
FWIW I have had good tone with self powered Bazooka Tube enclosures, ignoring the space they take in the trunk.

I LOVE my Rockford Fosgate 1000W amp and JL Stealthbox 10" sub. The amp is a 5-channel and also drives the Focal door components and mids.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Looks like I'm going with the JL setup. Got a sweet deal and my installer says the system rocks.

I installed RE Audio "class D" digital amps under the passenger seat. SA1000.0 powers my JL 10" sub and SA90.4 powers my Infinity components. If you want to hide your amps and keep the space behind your passenger seat, these are the way to go.

+1 Agree. I'm really liking mine. It's not going to shatter the windows but provides some nice, tight, and much needed bass.

Looks great.
i wanted to go under the seat. But it was too close.
Really didn’t lose any space behind the seat. I’ve had 6’4 guy in the pass seat with no issues.

Are you getting enough air flow with these under the seat? Looks tight.

In my 2005 I had the JL Stealthbox and in my 2013 I currently have a new JL Stealthbox. I will say, I prefer the old one. The first one was pre-loaded with a JL10w3 while the new ones are pre-loaded with the JL 10W1 because the current 10w3 (v3) mounting depth is too large to fit in the Stealthbox. While the current one with the 10w1 has decent bass response it is noticeably less than the older 10w3. I may replace it someday but for now it works fine.

“Best Sub” is too hard to answer because it really depends on the box you plan on using, sealed vs ported, the type of music you listen to, your budget, etc. JL and Arc Audio are good choices without breaking the bank.

It is a class D amp. Produces very little heat and doesn't really need good airflow.

I'm adding a sub-woofer and enclosure. I like the JL but am worried about blocking the rear speakers.

Had the BU cam installed with the head unit. Loving it.
