Default Driver door won't open

OK so this is something that has just started happening over the last month and its random when it does it. Its more noticeable when its really hot outside but not all the time. So basically when I touch the door handle like normal the window indexes but the door won't open. I try it several times and nothing . Whats weird is that if I go around and open the passenger door then the driver door will open. I know I can open the hatch and pull the handle to open the door. Also it has happened a couple of times when I have been in the car and it won't open. Any Ideas what the issue is ?

If the inside door button opening the door, but just not the outside pad instead?

If yes, then pull the door pad and clean it, and the connector as well.

Also, give the door latch assembly in the B pillar that the door Hook part latches into, with some Silicone spray.
Inside of the latch, and we are using the silicone spray to soften up the hard silicone grease in the latch to allow the parts to move again, without having to pull it apart to clean and grease it that way with a silicone grease instead.

If the window indexes that means the door pad is fine, it has to be the Door lock (gm part # 88956758).

My car is currently in the same state, ordered a new door pad to rule it out as they are about 15 bucks but that didn't fix it. It seems to be a pretty simple replacement, there are a couple of youtube videos on it to use as guides, just have not gotten around to order it and do it. I have been using the hatch to open the door for now.

Short of the door latch lock motor burning out, the assembly is not had to pull apart to clean and re-grease it to correct its problem. As stated, most of time you don't even need to pull it, since you can flood is with Silicone to solve it's problems isntead.

As for the motor, it's just a 12 volt hobby motor as seen in the photo above, and still trying to find a direct replacement for it that we can use as a source on units that the motor has burnt out. Hence I do know of a $10 hobby motor that works, but you have to pull the drive gear off the old motor, and press it back on the new motor, and this is beyond a lot off guys skill and tool needed isntead.
