Passenger door would not open from the outside. replaced the door handle pad, worked fine for about a week, then the same door would not open from the inside or outsode. Is there a lock acutator or what other component is not functioning?

Did you purchase from GM or aftermartket? if aftermartket do you recall where you bought it and what it costs?
Thanx,Jim
I also replaced the latch assembly in my '08 last year. You don't need the cables, since it's easier to keep the OEM ones in place. The assembly is in the $150-200 range and takes about 2 hours to replace the first time, but I suspect about 30 minutes after you done several.

I have keyless entry, the lock mech only has one cable, but u mention "cables". in a youtube post showing how to replace the lock mech it shows 2 cables. I looked several times inside the pillar cavity to be sure the cable had not broken away from the lock mech itself. was your lock a keyed entry or keyless?

All C6's have keyless entry. The latch has two cables. One going to the front passenger compartment on the floor beside the seat and the other for just the driver's door that's located in the hatch a little forward of the gas door release. I found it much easier to disconnect the cables at the latch assembly, than to try removing the latch with the cables and then stuffing the new latch back in with cables attached.
When you press the pad or interior door button, the release is by an internal solenoid in the latch assembly, which is totally independent of either cable.
yeah if you take it to a dealer they can plug the computer in and tell you exactly which mechanism is having trouble, shouldn't cost too much
the light flashing but the window indexing is probably indicating the latch mechanism isn't functioning
can you roll the window up and down all the way without issue?
Shouldn't but it does. The local dealer charges $120/hr for diagnostics with a 1 hour minimum. Then they want to sell the part for full retail and price the labor in the flat-rate guide, which any mechanic worth his salt can easily beat. If you have tools, you probably have more mechanical aptitude than is needed to change a light bulb. This forum can provide guidance to turn a $600 dealer job into a $180 part purchase and some bonding time with your car.
