OK, I'll bite, how did you do that? And why did that ruin your carpet?
My sympathies, as well.
I thought there was more room behind the passenger seat area and the gas tank. Put a screw through there installing an amp. It was only 1/2" screw and everything I read said there was an inch back there.
Gas came into the cabin and soaked the carpet in a couple areas. I'm not really mad about that because I was going to order full interior insulation and new carpet at some point, this just moved up the time frame.
I'm not looking forward to buying a passenger gas tank and doing the work to drop and replace it though.
Again, my sympathies. From what I understand, you need to drop the rear end to replace the tanks.
I should be able to slide the tank out through the wheel well area since it's an m6.
I appreciate the sympathies. Definitely turning a quick amp swap into quite the project. I suppose things could be worse though. Gives me a reason to take my car apart again.

Sorry to hear about all of the difficulties for what should have been an easy job. When installing an amp behind the seat you need to mount a piece of 3/4" MDF to the wall using Liquid Nails, and then mount the amp to the board. As you've found out, there just isn't any room between the wall and the tank behind it.

Yep, this time I'll be mounting the amps to plywood. Honestly, I was trying to save myself the 3/4" of passenger legroom and I read there was some space back there. Came back to bite me.

Use MDF. It will hold up better long term than regular plywood. You can pick up a half sheet of it at Home Depot for around $5. Even less if you can find a piece that's already been cut in their scrap bin.

Any updates on the samples you were going to receive?
Sorry, I forgot to update. Ebony was a direct match so I ordered the set for entire interior eplacement. Showed up in a few days and looks great. Unfortunately I've been traveling and I'm waiting for the Vettenuts insulation kit, so I haven't installed it yet.
The black looked good too, but I wanted to go with a direct replacement until I recover or get new seats.

This carpet is not nearly as thick as the factory carpet and isn't really molded either. However I did not add the mass backing, if I were to do this again I probably would. It's cut to roughly the correct size and you trim and install.
Fitment isn't perfect but I was in quite a bit of a hurry to throw the carpet in there and have the interior back in over a few hours. Plus I added several layers of insulation to work around. There are a lot of contours that the carpet doesn't want to mold to and some waves I just can't get out.
Being brand new carpet it does look really good. Better than the factory carpet on my 10 year old car.
As I mentioned I was rushing and I unfortunately trimmed the carpet way too short to go behind the center console. Waaaaaay too short. I really don't want to sink any more time into this right now so I chose to go with a quick and easy solution. I just cut a sheet of plexiglass to shape and wrapped it in carbon fiber vinyl. Eventually I'll probably redo the carpet.
I installed two RE Audio digital amps under the passenger seat. One for the sub and one for the components. Digital amps are much smaller and thinner and can fit under the seats. There just isn't enough room behind the seat, plus you would see the amp and wires behind the seat.
