Stay away from the 4LT trim. Last week I spent $2800 part and $700 labor to replace the dash of my '09 C6 but do have the old part for future needs (to be covered in vinyl). Did get a 24 month warranty on the new leather dash hoping it exceeds that by a lot. Regardless, totally enjoy the ride, so much fun, comfy and fast! Road trip next week to St Simmons Island GA, will enjoy.

My 2010 4LT dash is still perfect - no issues, I like having the 4 LT package

Unfortunately, replacing the dash with another one likely won't resolve the problem. It's like replacing the LS7 in the Z06 with another one. You have to address the root of the problem. The problem is the adhesive that adheres the leather to the dash is weak. Not enough was used. The leather top of the dash should be peeled back, have new adhesive applied, and then adhere the leather back to the dash.
Best of luck on no issues occuring though. Especially after spending that amount of money. I plan to have the windshield removed and have an upholstery shop apply new adhesive under the leather at some point.
Google image search "C6 dash peeling". Plenty of pictures.
Of course there would also be thousands of C6 4LT cars with no issues. Not all 4LTs are bad. In 2010 (my model year) there were 972 4LTs produced out of 12,194 total. Like everything made some will have issues, most will not. The ones with issues could show up on this forum, the ones without issues usually never get written about.
My 13 GS has no issues and I love the 4LT look, plus the suede in the 60th Anniversary package. I had an 11 3LT and the interior felt cheap. A friend owns the 08 4LT that I had and its dash still looks like new.
Crappy GM application causes it to fail, as well as using the wrong cleaner and leaving it baking in the sun all day. I just use a damp rag to clean it.

Of course. I'm sure it's more of an issue in warmer climates.
My '13 GS 6M 4LT coupe 60th anniversary special came from AZ and now resides in SC. Plenty hot. Knock on wood, no dash problems so far. Don't know how the original owner treated it but other than using a sunshade I don't do anything special for it. Clean with damp microfiber towel, no waxes, conditioner or preparation H. You could not give me one of those dash rugs, looks worse than vinyl. Like wearing a bad toupee.
The best solution I've seen if it bubbles is to remove the windshield to glue it back down. Cheaper and easier than removing the entire dash. Don't know how popeyez got a replacement 4LT dash, every other discussion I've seen on them said they were completely out of stock.

I like it! So the silent majority have spoken - the 4LT will not hurt you, ha ha.
It will not hurt you, but potentially only your wallet. I do like nice interiors, but for those that needed to get this repaired, it seems to turn into a big expensive headache.
I've got a silver '13 GS 6-speed manual coupe. I bought it new. At the time I could have picked any trim. But I had already read here about a bunch of problems with the 4LT dashes. So I went with the 3LT. I got pretty much every other option, including NPP exhaust, magnetic ride, chrome wheels, both tops, embroidered headrests and more. But I agree the 4LT looks better.
I also went through the same process picking between a GS and a Z06 . . . I loved the power of the LS7 but read here about the problems with the heads on that motor. The LS3 in the GS had no such issues.
So in the end, I went with a fully optioned 3LT GS . . . .not the highest trim or the most power, but for sure the most peace of mind. Absolutely no regrets. Good luck.

I share your sentiments. Although I was shopping for a used car, I ruled out the Z06 early in my search because of the head issues. And then, I also limited myself to the 3LT because of the dash issues I was reading about on the forum. I ended up purchasing a 2012 3LT GS with 980 miles which was definitely in, a slightly more used, Z06 price territory. I just didn't want to have to concern myself with those potentially expensive repairs. With the GS, I still have the potential harmonic balancer issue and clutch to the floor issue to look forward to some day if I keep the car long enough. It's sad that these known issues were not addressed some where along the C6's long production run. The C6 is a home run in my opinion, but GM would of really knocked it out of the park by addressing some of these known issues along the way.

I'm not sure, but I think I saw that car advertised for sale . . . the 980 miles rings a bell. I live in Maryland but bought my car new from MacMulkin Chevrolet in New Hampshire . . . got a fair deal. I agree about the harmonic balancer, but at least the clutch is now covered by GM by an extended warranty. I believe the C6 GS coupe is one of the most beautiful Corvettes ever made.
And since it looks like you live in NJ, if you are free this weekend (and have never been), consider going to Corvette Weekend in Ocean City, Maryland. There will be over 700 Vettes, representing every generation, every model year and every model, from all over the country, and ending with everyone driving their Corvettes in a parade down the Boardwalk. Its a great weekend, lots of friendly people, hotel rooms are cheap, the money goes to the Spina Bifida charity, and the weather looks good. Google it !!

I purchased my car 2 years ago through a private seller on craigslist who was in PA. Originally he was asking an unrealistic price for it, but I kept an eye on his ad until the price got to a more reasonable and realistic figure. If I remember correctly, the seller dropped the price three times before I finally came in with an offer.
Corvette Weekend in Ocean City sounds like a lot of fun. I hope to make it one of these years. Unfortunately work seems to always get in the way of all the fun stuff in life.
