Enjoy! We left Dakota County for retired life in northern WI. Still driving the Corvette. In fact, driving it down to the cities in the a.m.. I will probably put it away by the end of next week or so..
Thanks. I'm hoping to get another week or two at least. Enjoy WI !!
I drive mine till the first time they apply salt to the roads. Then I put it away in a heated garage where I can detail and tinker with it till spring.
The worst part is spending time in Florida over the winter and leaving the car behind in the snow
Well for those who think Florida weather is so great it is November and I am just waking the GS up now. Hurricane season should be finished. The summers are so unpredictable for big sudden rains that can lead to water ingestion C5 had that happen.I wait until now to start enjoying the ride. So just when you think it is safe to go out a swift moving storm Friday brings a tornado through my neighborhood with all the flying debris, vinyl fence panels, a shed and a 20lb propane tank that came flying by across the 4 lane divided highway I am traveling on. Eyes are wide open now.No damage for me but Plastic car is back in garage doors locked alarm set and battery tender plugged back in. I will take winter any time compared to this at least it is reasonably predictable.
From: Hamilton Square NJ, Ocean City N. J. Key Biscayne Fla.
I put the ZR1 on the Auto Train outside of Washington DC. The train takes me and the Z plus a guest to Sanford, Fl. I drive to Key Biscayne where I stay for about two months. It beats winter in the Soprano state, everytime.
We may have hippies, radical liberals, failing infrastructure, excess taxes, dipshit politicians, absurd legal restrictions etc. But it was 85* today and is still 76* out, **** I washed Athena to kick off "winter" and I even wore my best winter tank top.
I drive my cars when I feel like it, be it 110 degrees or -12 (Missouri). Is it snow and ice that keeps you from driving your Corvette, or some silly idea that Corvettes cannot be driven in sub-freezing weather? To prove to a friend that it could be done, I once drove myself and a friend to Taco Bell in 6” of snow to show him it wasn’t an issue. Plenty of uphill stop lights, M6, downhill braking, etc. Never a problem.
Bummer man. Everyone loves to hate on Cali smog requirements (admittedly they do suck) but I get to drive in a beautiful state 365 days a year. For that I am grateful.
