Winter. Parked the Vette two weeks ago and won’t drive it till mid April. It’s covered so I can’t look at it or sit in it and dream of warm weather and curvy roads. Been retired for many years but have to stay here for personal reasons. But so goes life. Problems of a first world country. In retrospect, most of the world would love to have our problems.
That's the price we pay for living in the North. We should be heading to Arizona or Florida for the winter......

While I do not put mine away for the winter, there are far too few days warm enough and roads without salt to drive much from December to March. The next few days are looking very good however.

Nah. Arizona while dry is extremely dusty. Very difficult to keep anything clean. And Florida, forget it. If you like 100% humidity and 95 F weather for 7 to 8 months out of the year, then great. Honestly, the midwest it probably the best of everything. Mild summers mostly, relatively mild winters, very nice fall and spring.
I love winter. Skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling (just another excuse to drive something with too much power!!!), ice fishing. Yes, no fun parking the sports car for a few months but something to look forward to in the spring. I'm sure to pull the cover off a few times, have a seat and pretend driving . But I haven't parked it yet - expecting another week or two of driving.
Although you can drive your Vette year round here, mine still stays in the garage covered up most of the time anyway. Ah the woes of being a garage Queen!

I think every resident from Wisconsin is here in Arizona by now. They close that state and a couple others from November to May. They close Canada too.....

My old 63 with shaker rear end did pretty well in the snow back in my college years.
C6, even a trace of the snow on the ground, can not get it out of the neighborhood since there are few blocks up hill travel that it will just play sit an spin.
So for use northern types that do get snow, the Vet is just a summer time toy of items in our play box.
No harm/now foul, since it just means that as we put the vet away for winter, it's time to break out the winter toy items from the toybox like the snowmobiles isntead.
You have my sympathies. Usually had to let my C6 sit for 2 or 3 days every winter here in southern middle TN when I had mine.
Form a fellow Tennessean (Knoxville), it's great to be able to drive our Vettes all winter but some of those cold but sunny days make for some slick tires!

I've always driven year round in the Northeast as long as the roads are clear and dry. I spend alot of the winter in Florida now, but this 65 was my daily driver in the early 70's. Still have the car.
