All these threads about problems with vehicles are making me paranoid about driving my car. Bought an '08 with 38,000 miles on it. Have put 30,000 miles on it and other than the recall for the gas tanks, have had no problems with it.................Damn! Anything made my man can and will fail. I love my car.

Over the past five years that I have monitored this forum, I have discovered that there are a bunch of Nervous Nellies on this board complaining about the "dreaded" this and that. Don't let them get you down. I learned long ago to stop worrying and enjoy - it is a lot easier and more fun.

You have to remember, there are too many whiners and grammar police on this forum, weed out the A-holes and you can find good answers around here. Drive your car and enjoy it!
Hey, have you ever seen a “bullet proof” Camry on a flatbed? Of course, nothing is perfect. Since I got my car this spring the only problem I have found is a very slow leak in one tire (loses 3psi over a month).
I've owned 23 different vehicles and minus a couple warranty repairs & freak occurrences like on my wife's first '16 Wrangler Unlimited where the entire 6 speed shifter, the stick, came off in my hand shifting into 2nd gear in a parking lot with only 4k miles on it. I was one of of the first to experience it but then it became a recall for Jeep because a ton of shifters started to break. Repaired under warranty in 3 days. My wife's 2nd '16 Wrangler Unlimited had a recall for an airbag sensor/module but has otherwise been trouble free for 38k miles so far. But if you read the Jeep forums you would think they are the most unreliable vehicles in the world. Same when looking at used Jeeps, the vast majority I find have rebuilt engines & rebuilt transmissions, rebuilt differentials, etc. with under or just above 100k miles. To me that just says people beat the crap out of them & don't follow proper maintenance. You'll find the same with the C6 (or any car really), the ones people take care of, do all the routine maintenance, etc. have long trouble-free lives. The one's people beat the crap out of will have problems.
Even the worst cars built today are far better than the cars I grew up with. I remember so many breakdowns as a kid, failed wheel bearings, blow tires, over heating, etc. One time the rear bumper and hitch fell right off the station wagon leaving the boat stuck on the rail road tracks we were crossing. Had to camp 2 nights to get that one fixed. And these were relatively new cars, my Dad was a traveling salesman and bought a new car every 3 years. Cars back then rusted out in 4 years. We have it so good today it's really unbelievable. I do not worry about driving my Vette or my Ram truck or my Triumph motorcycle (it doesn't have any Lucas parts in it).

Ha, a buddy of mine bought a new '72 Bonneville. I don't remember him having any electrical problems, but the tranny was total suckage. Took it back to the dealer several times, I don't remember exactly what happened but I'm thinking they never got it right because he didn't keep it long. Heh, my new '70 750 Honda was trouble-free and unbreakable -- and I'd toyed with buying a Triumph or Beezer instead. Wow, I dodged THAT friggin' bullet.

Remember, nobody starts a post that says, "I don't have any problems with my vette". What we get here is problems, and ways to fix them.
It's a car, just drive it and enjoy it.

Yup, just like the media does NOT report: "There were over five thousand successful take-offs and landings today with airliners, and no crashes."
Your body is a much more sophisticated machine than your car. Folks who have that kind of outlook might as well live in a padded hospital room with IV's feeding your system, and multiple care takers overseeing all the potential issues that may arise indicating a degrade in your health. Or, you could just LIVE!

Oh yea....a lot of "Just drive it and enjoy it's" in here along with the "no car is perfect" attitude. And that is all fine and dandy in some respect. But back in the day if you had an issue that broke you down on the road, it was usually a complete surprise so there was no time or reason to be paranoid about anything.. Now days, with the problems that these C-6's have, and with the info floating on forums like this you run across "Warnings" (if you will) that makes people like the org. poster...(and myself).... paranoid. Sure climb in that C-6 and just enjoy it....but don't forget that the thing might get stuck in park in the middle of that parking lot.....or, maybe that shifter cable will give up just after you put it in park while waiting in a drive through. Yea...I do enjoy driving mine, but having to worry about this crap happening does take some of the fun out of it.........
Oh, I am enjoying the hell out of it. I've had it a year and a half and have put almost exactly 30,000 miles on the odometer. Was looking at taking it to Vegas for Thanksgiving but they are expecting snow in Flagstaff so may have to take my truck.

You’ve surpassed the 6K miles I’ve driven in the last’s 21 months by a long shot. I really need to get out more!
Happy Thanksgiving! :cheers
It’s a car... it breaks, repair it. Not sue I understand the intent of the thread. Good thing your not on a medical forum, you’d probably loose your mind lol.
