My other vehicle is a Chevy Silverado 2500HD PU, I'm use to a firm ride. I have no complaints about my 08 C6. It's a base vert with about 25K miles, oem shocks, and Michelin RFs. I love the ride!
I think the OP didn't take the time to drive and decide if this car was the right choice for a daily driver and now has buyers remorse, and wants to modify it into something it wasn't meant to be.
I also daily a Silverado, albeit mines only a 1500, but I know what you mean about boating on the roads and firm ride. I can see where he's coming from. I personally bought the car for weekend trips with the wife & occasional track use so firmness is not an issue for me, but I can appreciate the efforts to soften up the ride if performance isn't the main attribute you're looking for. Maybe he likes the look and the way a sports car makes him feel but doesn't want to be shaken to death while driving it?
I have base c6 with stock run flats. I was looking at different model vetts and chose the c6 because the ride was the smoothest. I actually can not believe how smooth and comfortable it is for being a corvette. I will be changing the tires in the spring to non run flats and am excited to see the difference it will make. I think when time comes to change stock suspension I will go with Johny O'Connell stage 1. C3 will definitely make you appreciate the ride of the c6.
Thank you everyone for your comments and suggestions. I found out that my car has the Mag shocks with the **** that can be changed from tour to sport mode. Besides the OEM and the Koni option is there anything else anyone had liked a lot? Don't have run flat tires and the car has not been lowered. Thank you again.
OP, you have a legitimate question that deserves a legitimate answer without being snarky. I too would like a smoother ride. I have a base car. I lower the tire pressure to 30 psi cold. Perhaps I don’t get the max mileage out of the tires with lower pressure but don’t care. Don’t let the snarky comments about “get a Buick” get to you. There are a lot of great folks on this site. Every site has keyboard commandos that get their jollies by putting others down. Enjoy your Vette, it is a great car.

As I noted previously, mine has the F55 shocks, and considering what the car is capable of (handling) I think it rides great. If your shocks are not shot, I would leave them alone.

30 cold is the recommended pressure, what do you mean, you "lowered them to 30"?

The recommended tire pressure is dependent on the tire, not the car. The tire pressure recommendations can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. Lower recommended pressure was 32 psi. I prefer 30 psi.

If one is running stock tire sizes, then I believe the door jamb numbers are correct.
But two pounds either way isn't going to make any noticeable difference (ignoring the placebo effect).
New member and first time Corvette owner. Have an stock 2006 and I am going to replace all 4 shocks. Will not be racing or doing anything performance wise. Just want the most smooth and comfortable ride possible. Not sure if there is an airbag shock option. Going to drive it daily. Thank you in advance.
To answer the OP's question: Go back with the original OEM shock that is not for performance handling, the Z-51 or Z-06 shocks are performance shocks. The next thing you can do is replace the runflat tires with non-runflats. The tires will give you a much soother and quiet ride but you loose the runflat safety net. Coil overs are for performance and give a harsh firm ride which based on your question you do not want. Air bags are very expensive and as far as I know not available for a Corvette. Bilstein makes a street shock that also might be an option for you. Hope that helps.

If you have mag shocks, you cant swap them out without going through a lot of hassle..sad to say, youd be better off trading the car than trying to cha ge the ride on it.
OP, since you have the Mag Shocks, if they are leaking, they need replacement. The Magnetic Ride shocks are expensive, a few have changed them to a standard shock with modifications to the system (computer/sensors) to use them without generating codes, but will give you the best of both applications. Read up on the mag ride shocks, the information is pretty impressive.
I have this leaky shock problem. Can you tell me where to find info on how to reprogram things once I go to a non-electronically controlled shock? Thenks.
If you have a base suspension go with the Bilstein HD B6 shocks (not "sport" B8) . Run the tires at 32 lb cold.
You'll find the car handles better and rides better. Lighter shocks and lower air makes the car wallow and actually makes the ride worse, even though this doesn't make sense.
I have the Z51 option, so it is a bit stiffer ride. I did get the Bilstein B8 shocks and new non runflat Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, and the car drives 10X better than it did with the stock shocks and the Goodyear RF tires.
Pretty much any non runflat tire and stock shocks will improve the ride over any FR tires, IMO

I believe that you can remove the F55 signals coming from the BCM with a TECH II unit. Dealers can do it, or anyone that has access to the unit.

Mag ride shocks set to "tour", and non-run flats gives a pretty good ride for a sports car. I would not change a thing. BTW, if you get curious about the condition of your shocks, just about ANYONE you have look at them will tell you they are leaking, and must be repaired. Unlikely if your car has less than 100K miles. There will always be a small amount of oil film/dirt on the F55 shocks, and it does not mean anything. If they are dripping, they are bad. Some people on this forum have asked about their shocks AFTER they had them unnecessarily replaced.

How leaky? A light film on the shock, or dripping on the pavement? F55 shocks will generally have a film of oil on them, which is not a sign of trouble.
