Can't seem to find anything online but when I cold start the car ('13 GS M6) and drive away- after letting it warm up briefly- I distinctly hear a 'sloshing' sound near the center firewall.
Seems to do it as I start, then when rpm's climb a little it goes away. I does not do it again, only on the first cold start acceleration. Pink coolant seems a little low in the reservoir but no DIC indicators, etc.
Am I barking up the wrong tree by adding some coolant?
You are correct it's coolant related but you just can't add coolant. You are hearing bubbles or air trapped in the system and you need to add coolant the correct way to burp all the air out of the cooling system. Let me know if you don't know the correct procedure.
One note on the attachment in previous post, I buy 50/50 premixed Dexcool to make sure the mixture is correct. The cycling of the engine rpms will get the bubbles and air out of your system.

Agree - sounds like air in the system. One extra step and often missed when people change/flush coolant, shut off air con and auto air climate, place HEATer on HI and take a drive to bring engine up to op temps. This not only circulates older coolant out of the heater core (in the case of a coolant flush) but it also pushes air out of the core and into the rad/engine which can then be bled out. Sounds to me like you have air trapped in the heater core.
Off topic - you should be seeing orange coolant. Pink is a variation, but it is a Pentofrost variation that is used in some Euro cars. I use pink in one of my British cars, but you should be using orange (Dexcool is the default brand).

I agree. My '13 GS would make that sound occasionally - it didn't concern me since I thought it was related to the coolant or a/c refrigerant. Funny thing is that I had the coolant system flushed at 50,000 miles at the dealer and have not heard the sound since. So they did a nice job.
Airlift System
Most dealers use a tool called an "Airlift System" to pull a 26 lb vacuum on the cooling system, then a tube is placed in a bucket of coolant and sucked into the system without any air..This is the only way to fill the cooling system without having to burp the system a few times, and usually over a few days to get it right..I purchased an Airlift system 10 years ago and haven't had to burp a cooling system since, you just pull a vacuum, suck in the coolant, and your done, no air in the system to deal with...WW
