I get a rough idle when I turn on the heater or AC. It smooths out when I shut it off. Anyone ever have an issue like that. Car is an 06 base with cam and headers.

Back again, coils checked out fine, took it to a dealer for an inspection and they told me cylinders 5 and 7 were misfiring from bad injectors. they replaced them and it ran fine for a while but now its misfiring again... the cam, valve springs and lifters all checked out in good condition. I'm starting to lose my head over this...

I have a 2010 base model and mine idles rough when the car is in drive, like sitting at a red light or stop sign, idles smooth when in park, no engine lights on.

Well if there were 2 injectors causing the misfire's, I would of changed them all, most likely the others will be in the same condition just miles down the road. Keep in mind that there aren't any gas filters in our cars so all of them are subjected to dirty gas over time. Only a strainer is used located in the pickup of the left side gas tank.

Load torque pro onto your phone and get an adapter so you can read codes. If you get a small evap emission leak it means probably the purge solenoid has failed which is a common failure Iam on my 3rd one in 3 years, or possibly the charcoal canister for the fuel system is toast. This allows fuel vapor into the engine intermittently and it will run rough.

checked it out with a friends laptop, cylinders 3,5, and 7 are misfiring and detected no leaks. did a compression test on the cylinders and they're fine.

Since the issue is only on one side of the engine, maybe check the electrical connectors of the harness that are leading to the injectors and the coil bank, pull them apart check for cleanliness.

I have the same amount of miles. It’s an 07 and I noticed at idle my engine would shake for a bit. Had my motor mounts changed and now it’s nice and smooth! One was popped and leaking the other one was on its way.

So I'm reviving this thread because I finally found the issue and wanted to let people know where to look if they have a similar issue. Accompanying my misfires I also had some strange sounds coming from my drivetrain but never really paid it any mind. welp turns out that my torque tube is starting to wear out which while idling caused it to vibrate a lot and produce the misfires in the engine along with the "service traction and active handling" light. My hope by telling you all this is that hopefully no one esle has to spend 1+ years trying to track down a misfire issue.

Thank you for the update on your issue. As a newer Vette owner, I tend to read over threads regarding items to look out for and issues others have with older Vettes. I did some Torque Tube googling after your mentioned this and learned alot about other maintenance items to keep in the back of my mind if I have similar issues in the future.

Hope your car is all squared away now and you are back to a miles of smiles!
