This happens to me as well. What’s worse is the alarm doesn’t turn off regardless of me “pressing any other button on the keyless access transmitter to stop it.” (Page 3-6 2011 owners manual)

OK, I just tested mine and also can't get the acc mode on without the fob either. It just beeps once and never lights up anything when I push the button with a rod from an opened hatch. I know I didn't have his fob and I know I didn't find one when I cleaned out his car, so I'm lost as to how that happened. He died last November, so I can't ask him. The only thoughts I have now, are that there was a fob under a seat or in a place I couldn't reach while the car was still on the trailer.
Sorry for all the confusion it caused everyone, but now I'm the one left with an unsolvable mystery.

On my 2008 I can push the unlock button and that will shut it down...Give it a test.
