When I was shopping for my '05 C6 coupe I found that the time of year had a large impact on selling price. I bought mine in the beginning of fall at a Chevy Dealer. I paid under $18,000 out the door. It has 58,000 miles, Z51, all options (I think?) and looks mint. Plus it has full Corsa exhaust with LT headers and a Lingenfelter CAI. It was listed for $22,000 originally.

I totally disagree car is still a 2005. But what is worst car has not been driven which is not a good thing. Unless you plan on not driving it yourself for a museum piece.

You can buy a 2010 or newer for similar price but might have 20-30,000 miles

According to Corvette DNA:

2006 - in EXCELLENT condition - under 15k miles:

Base Value: $23,100

Add the following to the above value based on what options the car has:
3LT - add $750
Dual Roofs - add $750
Mag Ride - add $400
6-Spd - add $1500
Chrome wheels - add $500
Convertible - add $2200

Sounds like a great car, congrats on finding one with such low miles!

It’s not but you asked for opinions. Good luck. Negotiate more off for tires that is another grand for good set

Please post some links to those cars, other than the ones with salvage titles. Plenty of people here are ready to buy.

I loved my 2006 C6 but it's a 13-year old car with the LS2. I don't think CARMAX would give them $24K. If you can afford, get a GS.

They usually do. People like to base prices on what they paid in another region or season. It sounds like a great deal. I would definitely replace the fluids and hope they changed the oil at least once per year. Yes tires are junk even when new so find some great tires and not some no name brand cheapos.

Show us the printout. Like several others, I ran the KBB on this car and you are not even remotely close.

Does anybody else seeing this smell a here? Or simply a very incompetent appraiser?

OP -- good luck. And check out that tag you asked about on my thread. Lotta info there...

Lol, don't worry about it, not hard to start an argument on here.

I am glad you posted, whenever someone is willing to talk car-condition-price we all learn what these vettes are really worth or selling for.

Good luck with your vette, it sounds like a sweet ride at a fair price to me.

OP is asking about a '06 not '05. As already said post some links to 2010 for similar price that you would be comfortable buying, good luck. Not salvage title, 5 owner, 78,000 mile cars but 1 or 2 owner 25,000 mile or less for similar price, LOL.

Carmax is in the business of buying low and selling high.
A similar GS would easily be $10-$12K more.

Maybe, but CarMax buys cars at wholesale in order to make a nice profit on them. I expect that the OP is buying for enjoyment.

Kid? Once again you show your ignorance. Just because you may be old, don't make me a kid.

OP, these threads always bring out the lowballers and there are plenty of those on this forum. If they don't want to buy a car unless they can steal it, more power to them. If you are happy with the deal at $23k that's all that really matters.

Just for reference, there is currently a '05 vert, laguna blue, black top & interior, loaded with options, A4 trans, new wheels and tires, with 39K miles, just posted up for sale yesterday in Peoria, AZ at $23K OBO. It appears to be super clean, unmolested (aka bone stock except for the aftermarket wheels) and has a clear title and carfax.
