2006 with 3,500 miles $
Hi, I have the opportunity to buy a 2006 with 3,500 miles. Car literally looks as though it was taken out of the dealer. What do you guys think is a fair price. Waiting for them to send me the window sticker. Seems like a regular C6 with navigation.
Thanks,
Anflyer

What are they asking?
A fair price depends on location, options, colors, etc. Ballpark with no info... over 20k, less than 40k.

Original tires? Although only 3500 miles, still 12+ years old and may need replacement. Be sure to figure that cost into final price.

24k is a great price for a low mileage clean car like that.

You can use KBB etc to plug in year/model/miles/trim level to get an estimate, and look at others in your area to gauge what they are going for.
With such low miles, offer them a couple grand less, and then meet in the middle and buy it if you like it. Probably won't get one with less miles than that!

And before anyone chimes in with crackpipe $1500+ tire estimates, you can get good tires for $800, really good tires for $1000, and your choice of Michelins for $1200, without even working hard.

What part of the country are you in - snow, or warm?

KBB more than likely is going to hurt someones feelings at 24K. Edmunds is more accurate but they seemed to have changed their website making it difficult to properly and completely navigate appraise your car section.

I bought a low mileage '07 3LT Vert (3300 miles) and did the following after delivery:
- New set of shoes
- New set of TPMS (batteries don't last forever...)
- Drain/Fill Rear Diff
- Drain/Fill Transmission
- Drain/Fill/Bleed brakes
I also got the dealership to sell me a premium 3rd-party warranty (at cost) -- bumper to bumper with $100 deductible. I've used it about 3-4 times -- the warranty has been paid for and then some.

24k probably isnt a bad price for that car, but like others have said its going to need tires and IMO trans and rear end fluid and a brake fluid flush. If you can DIY the trans, rear and and brake fluid, you will have 1200-1500 bucks in that(with the tires obviously), if you have to pay labor you will have 1500-1700 in it.
If the TPMS batteries are bad(likely getting close) thats another $200($100 for sensors and $100 for install).
I would go in at 21-22k and explain why. OR offer to pay their price, but with new tires(of your choosing) and a full fluid flush at the dealer of your choice.

Buy it!!!! Put new tires on it, and not Goodyear tires. Change the fluids, buy new TPMS batteries at the tire change.
good luck

I don't agree with asking the seller to pay for or replace tires. Just negotiate a price you are comfortable with and buy the car and bring it home. If its in brand new condition except for age and a few miles, than that sounds like a sweet car. If it's a friend of a friends car, I wouldn't want to low ball them. $23k sounds reasonable for both parties.

What I paid for a 1 year newer car... a convertible... and 3LT (not sure what trim level he is looking) at isn't really helpful -- not an apples-to-apples comparison. What I did have to pay -- above the price paid for the rig -- is relevant as IMHO, these are things that would be prudent to do for a car of that age (Vette or not).

I agree with others....that is a decent price. Wholesale in my region for that car is about 20,500 with those miles. You should be able to do 23 ish at this time of year. Don't fret the peripherals either just do thorough inspection and if it checks out do it...they are fantastic cars. I also agree about not sweating the tires...you can get them for under 1k all day long and so what if they are old tires, they are still run flats. they'll get you to a tire store.
Good luck, there is only one first vette.
