I know BlueTooth became available at some point on the C6, just not sure which year. In the market for a C6, but factory BT is a must have item. Can anyone confirm when it became standard? Thanks.

The 2009 Vette was the first year to offer it. I will say, depending on what features you're looking for the BT in the C6 might disappoint. I have the last model year of the C6 and its abysmal compared to other cars even the same model year.
BT calling only
BT calling doesn't work if you're plugged into the USB port under the armrest for media playback
BT calling cutting in and out
No media playback over BT
No media controls even over USB (not a bluetooth complaint, but still tied to the horrible head unit)
Also if you have NPP or an aftermarket exhaust... forget about taking calls while driving.

Reason: Let me be more specific

Thanks for the quick reply. Road music is very important to me when I'm traveling. Have given up on Sirius and FM in general. Prefer just listening to my own collections. Plugging in my iPod to the aux jack or using a usb thumb drive has been my go to method, but really like the convenience of no wires with BT. Curious why you find it disappointing in the C6?
FWIW, I'm no audio purest. Doesn't have to be the absolute best sound quality, just something reasonably good.

The factory head unit doesn't support BT audio. Only phone calls.
Ha Ha. Man, the questions and replies are coming faster than I can keep up! Thanks to all. Just interested in listening to my music playlists. Don't care about phone calls, etc.

So just go to an audio shop and have the head unit changed out - it's really that simple, or do it yourself ……….

If you want to play music you are limited to the following options with the factory headunit:
Wired over USB through the port in the center console / armrest
May sound silly, but would like to keep the vehicle completely stock. Don't want anything after market.
The Aux connection works okay so long as you have access to the device to change track. This is also not supported. Maybe an MP3 CD or MP3 USB drive would resolve this? I haven't put a lot of effort into it, usually drive windows down and listen to that sweet sweet V8.
With a C6, I wouldn't worry at all about what radio it has and not let that be a factor in which car I buy. For a few hundred dollars you can get a good aftermarket unit that fits, looks good, and has everything you want and more, including nav. The fact is the radios, including the ones with nav and bose, weren't that great 10+ years ago and are way behind what's out there now. IMO it's a more worthwhile "mod" than a lot of the bullshit that gets put on these cars.
And if you're worried what the next buyer will think, or what NCRS will see in 30 years, just keep the old, useless one in a box until you need it.
This is what I did since I have the factory navigation radio with no aux input. I had bluetooth for phone calls but wanted to be able to stream music from my iPhone.
A simple cable from Ray Kawal's site can add that. He also provides information if you want to use a separate bluetooth device.
Yeah voice call only, and it isn't that great with that. Doing Voice to Text does the whole "Call Ended" at the end and that is louder than I would like. Is there an option to reduce the audible queues?
I would definitely recommend putting in a new head unit. That is what I plan on doing to get the new technology such as Car Play and a backup camera. Not to mention the NAV unit is very dated and I am guessing they aren't going to release a DVD update as there hasn't been one since 2016 I think?
The simplest solution is also ridiculously cheap and easy. This type device will link from your phone to an unused FM radio channel. The quality is FM... not too bad.

Will have to look into that cable to tide me over, though I don't mind streaming my tunes or books through the USB. I did notice the USB on the car charges VERY slow.
Also noticed on that site there is the fuse jumper to make the Aux ports turn off without car in Run or Accessory mode. Glad I saw that I could easily drain the battery if I didn't know that it is hot all the time. I just put in a charger adapter in there to help charge other devices and sure enough the little light on it was lit, so guess I may look at the fuse jumper as well.

I am able to talk over Bluetooth on my iPhone with it plugged into the USB streaming music in my 2012 GS. I can also use the channel controls on my steering wheel to skip songs.
