I don't know if i need that thing or if it is just overkill but anyway i did install a catch can on my GS today it took about two easy hours to install. I went with Elite Engineering after reading lots of positive reviews and comments from you guys. Here's some pics. Thank you all.
Not overkill. If you don't have dry sump the catch can will catch a ton of blow by, an inevitable downside to LS heads. Be sure to check it every few drives until you get an idea of how often you'll need to empty it. Pushing the car hard will increase the amount caught.
Nice job. Suggest you might want to do something to keep the hose from rubbing against the side of the can. I've pulled mine a bit towards the fender using a couple of zip ties for now.
Nice clean look. Did you take any pictures of where the hose connections go?
Thank you, no i did not but it is very close to what you see as the hoses are about inches long.
SUP
Thank you, no i did not but it is very close to what you see as the hoses are about 10 inches long.
You did a nice clean install, however, catch cans are not needed...if they were GM would have installed them from the factory..that's my take on it
GM also determined that additional heat and sound insulation was not needed, and that Goodyear run flats were good enough. A lot of factory decisions are based on cost and 'good enough' mentality. There are always things that can be improved. Enthusiast seek them out and turn them into projects.
