Need a little help here guys, took my 2006 Corvette Z06 to my personal mechanic for a check on an airbag light (the previous owner had removed the seats before and reinstalled OEM seats later) tried to get a scan on the codes with his snapon diagnostic tool, and we got the following error, could not communicate with airbag module. I asked him if it could be with his diagnostic tool not being Tec 2 and he said he has never had this problem before...

Anybody have any advice?
I ran into a similar situation earlier this winter on a GM car but not a Corvette. My daughter called me one morning needing a boost since the kids played with and left the dome light on killing the battery. When she tried to start the car all it did was that rattling click as it wouldn't turn over. This also caused her airbag light to come on and stay on in her Chevy Cruze. I took the car to a local shop that i use and the mechanic hooked up his Snap-On scanner and told me that he couldn't clear the code. I asked him if he had a TechII so he went back in the shop and got it and was able to clear the code with it.
Fixed it! The previous owner removed the airbag fuse when he had racing seats put in (they have since been removed in place of OEM seats) popped that 10amp fuse back in and viola, everything works perfect!
