Default Fluid Coolers in C6 Grand Sport

I am always trying to learn as much as I can about my car. In doing so, I have some questions.

How many fluid coolers does a 2011 C6 Grand Sport with 6-spd manual transmission and dry sump oil system have? I am aware of the main engine radiator, the auxillary engine oil cooler, the power steering fluid cooler and the rear differential cooler.

Do the manual cars also have a manual transmission oil cooler? If it does, what actually pumps the fluid as I wasn't aware that the manual transmission have a fluid pump? From looking at a parts diagram it looks like there are cooling lines which run from the right side of the radiator back to the manual trans, then there are lines that run from the manual trans back to a block shaped cooler/heat exchanger and then there are lines going from that to the differential.

Any other fluid coolers in the car?

Are the cooling systems in the manual transmission Grand Sports the same as in Z06's?

You've probably found this by now, but....
  • Radiator (with heat exchanger for manual trans, same as auto trans radiator)
  • Differential heat exchanger - mounted on rear diff, uses trans fluid as cooler, which is in-turn cooled by the radiator heat exchanger
  • Oil cooler - air cooled
  • Power steering cooler - air cooled
  • A/C condenser
That's about it! Your assessment of the manual G/S is correct. AFIK, the cooling systems are the same between the G/S and Z-06, but I believe the tube routing for the diff cooler is slightly different, or perhaps I am thinking of the ZR1. All of the dry sump components including the oil pan are the same to the Z06 LS7. Convertibles are also not dry sump, don't know about the rest of the coolers.

The only factory vert dry sump in the C6 was the 427 because it had the LS7. Assuming yours is a 427?

Unless the motor was changed it's impossible to have a dry sump in a GS convertible from the factory.

Grand Sport did not come with a 427. The 427 vert is a totally separate model. In that case yes the 427 vert did have the dry sump. Only a 6 speed manual coupe in a Grand Sport came with the dry sump.
