Clear Targa Restoration?

Clear Targa Restoration?
On a C6 can you sand and buff the see thru top ?
I see that the C5 guys do that.
But I also see where the C6 top may be a different material?
Mine is crazed with small lines all through it.

1) Bought a new top.
2) Wrapped the inside of the old (crazed) top with black and carbon fiber wrap. Now I have a top for really hot sun days and a new top when I don't want drive targa. You can't see the crazing with the wrap on the inside.
My 2 cents.

What causes the crazed lines? I was told be the previous owner not to use windex or other such cleaning products on it to prevent it, but I'm not sure if that's accurate or not.

Yeah, I had the same problem. The crazed lines drove the **** out me. Yes, you can sand and buff the top (though it would be better to reapply the protective coating before buffing) , I did this ....

was thinking about the wrap. but on the outside in Black
did you carbon wrap the outer and black on the inside?
Or just a black carbon fiber wrap on the inside?

Race Car Tech
I went back to 400 grit, and am in the process of getting it back to 1200, then getting it clear coated. The painter told me that at 1200, the clear coat will not show any sanding lines through the clear coat, and the clear will bite on the 1200 grit.
Each grit, from 400-600-800-1000-1200 is done in the opposite direction so as to know when that grit sandpaper is finished on the entire top.
With the running season soon to start, I will likely wait until the Fall to finish up and get it cleared over the winter hibernation period.
The transparent top that I have on my car has started to get some crazing, so hopefully the sanding and clear coat on the other top will be successful.
I will update when I do get that project finished, good or bad.
Hope this helps.

As far as the inside goes I wrapped the center area with carbon fiber wrap (3m Di-Noc ) and then the passenger and driver sides with glossy black. Same glossy black wrap I used for the halo.

I wouldn't recommend anything with alcohol or ammonia for cleaning auto glass anyhow. There are plenty of "tint friendly" window cleaners that are much less abrasive and leave zero film.
