I just paid $550 (BestBuy) to get a Pioneer 2330-NEX head unit installed in my 05 (that price includes the unit, installation and all necessary components/wires/brackets). NAV updates have been around $100 to $150 depending where you get it... It was a no brainer spending the money on a new unit that offers Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It's so seamless and easy and NEVER requires an update cause my phone updates everything for free.
I have a couple of questions. I've been reading the reviews on the BB website. Did your car have the OEM Nav unit, and the Bose system? I don't think the 05 had the steering controls. Are you having any connectivity issues with your phone? iPhone or Android? I use XM radio, so it looks like I also need an add on for the HU! You got it for a very good price! It depends which BB you go to. The pricing is not uniform. It's whatever the traffic will bear.

1) I had the base radio and CD player - yes Bose system
2) My 05 does not have steering wheel controls
3) My Samsung Note 9 and my wife's Apple X connected via Bluetooth and Android Auto / Apple CarPlay with zero issues...both work flawlessly
4) If your Sirius account offers streaming - then you do not need to add anything to this unit - just download the Sirius app on your phone, and then via Android Auto / Apple CarPlay you can open the app and stream through your phone...no adapter needed. Although, the adapter is a more direct approach for sure...
5) Yes I paid $349 for the unit (with free installation). Its now $499 on their website.

Thanks for the reply. After I posted my questions here, I saw your earlier post that answered most of my questions. I have the OEM Nav unit, and had no intention of replacing it. But after the loss of the clock/ETA fiasco, plus no more map updates, it pushed me over the edge! I like my Android phone for navigation, so with this unit I'll finally have the map and audio direction going through the HU.
I'll be going to my local BB, and get a price quote for an out the door price!
