Anyone know where to get a updated disc at a reasonable price? My 2013 has the original and GM thinks they are made of gold!! Plan on upgrading the head unit but finances will prevent that for about a year.
Agreed. Keep in mind that the last Nav update for the C6 was in 2016.
Yup, crazy there hasn't been update since then. At least you can find them on ebay for about $15. Guess GM wants you to upgrade the car to get the update NAV maps
Do this and get rid of the archaic crap. I put a Pioneer AVH4200NEX in my truck and I plan to do the same in the corvette. Using ways or google maps is so much better than factory nav.
While I agree a HU would be the best long term solution, the replacement DVD can be obtained for only $15 bucks. I do plan on replacing my Head Unit, and was planning on doing it right now, but decided to put that money towards a family cruise, so will be sticking with the stock NAV for a bit longer and will be ordering a DVD since mine is a 2012 release. Not that I really need NAV anyway, as I have my phone and most places I am going to I know where I am going anyway.
To think people used to survive with big paper maps or even more "modern", printed routes from mapquest.
Although an upgraded HU with garmin GPS navigation is the cat's meow, I've been using the OEM Nav unit since 2009 with no issues. It has never let me down.
Sure it's difficult to learn, but once that is accomplished, it works to perfection. There are many tricks to get it to work smoothly.
I have the latest (last) update which was 2016 Version 10.
If I decide to keep the C6 for long term, then I just may upgrade to an aftermarket unit.
I got mine for like 12 bucks on ebay, 2016 disc. Granted, it was a burned copy of it but whatever. It was 12 bucks and it works exactly like a factory GM one.

this got me!
I can remember telling the wife, “hang on the directions are still printing” before taking the kids on vacation 😄
I just paid $550 (BestBuy) to get a Pioneer 2330-NEX head unit installed in my 05 (that price includes the unit, installation and all necessary components/wires/brackets). NAV updates have been around $100 to $150 depending where you get it... It was a no brainer spending the money on a new unit that offers Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It's so seamless and easy and NEVER requires an update cause my phone updates everything for free.
