stereo upgrade
I know this should usually get put in the audio part, but I figured enough of you guys have upgraded your C6 systems and thought I'd see if anyone has done this yet.
I'm upgrading my head unit to a kenwood DDX9904s
I was originally going to just use the bose speakers & amp because I didn't want to change the door subs (2006 so I'm assuming they have amps on them?)
BUT, my idea was :
leave the door "subs" in and eplace the 3.5's in the doors with JL c2-350x using the factory set up to power them
Replace rear with JL C2-650 component in stock location (slight modification required) - powered on arc audio amp
OR
leave the door "subs" in and using the factory set up to power them ONLY
replace the 3.5's in the doors with JL c2-350x and rear with JL C2-650 component in stock location (slight modification required) = power all 4 with arc audio
Anyone do a set up like this yet?

I would put the speakers on the nose amp. If you put big power to the speakers but not the subs you will lose all the balance.
Also, theres mo benefit to using components in the rears, you dont technically want a lot of sound coming from there. I would just use coax speakers in ththe rears.

Arc audio amp is a 4.125 mini, so not really what I'd consider "big power" - had considered using it just for a single small sub but wouldn't want to overpower miss and highs

You can run the speakers off of the factory amp. There have been plenty of forum members who have replaced the door 3.5" speakers and the rear 5.25" speakers with some aftermarket speakers running off the factory amp with good results. You just have to replace with aftermarket 4ohm speakers and also look at what RMS the speakers will run at. A speaker that runs on a lower RMS value and doesn't need a great deal of power to sound good would be more ideal.
