A reputable mechanic can do it, but there wont be a whole lot of savings if done properly, but it would be less expensive

$150 for brake fluid flush with labor and fluid is not over priced.

I prefer Right than Cheap. Having said that, there's not a dealer shop that I'd ever let touch my autos. I know many very good mechanics and non of them work at a dealership. Shop around.

Go to Harbor Freight and buy a vacuum brake bleeder and do it yourself, pretty easy job.

This won't cycle the EBCM to get the old fluid out, which should be done if you're flushing the entire system.

$350 is about $100+ to high for coolant flush and fill.

$150 for brake flush = 1.0 hrs + parts...seems okay
Technically a GM Tech II is required to open the ABS valve.
(Jacking pucks, remove four rims, Tech II, bleed (vacuum or old school) , reinstall
seems like 1.5 for a quality job.)

But yes a reputable mechanic can do this...easy job.

Coolant Flush
Most dealers use an expensive recovery machine as opposed to drain/ refill technique and have hazardous waste disposal fees.
$350 using this machine = 2.5 hours + parts...seems a little high...but need more info.
Air bubbles can be an issue.
Insuring all old coolant is removed takes multiple flushes, this takes additional time.
Use of distilled water can be recommended (see internet endless debates) and make sure DexCool (red) is used.
Cleaning of the coolant reservoir tank can also be recommended (chipped ice technique as one trick).

But yes a reputable mechanic can do this too...easy job.

Good luck.

Last time my dealer used the recovery and recycle machine it cost $200.

I doubt we will see "gayvettelover" back in here.

In fact, he (or is it she) started this post 3 days ago, and hasn't been back since.

4 days now since "gayvettelover" started this thread.

I told you he / she would not be back to this thread that he / she had started.

How is it that I am able to figure all this stuff out ?
