Just for reference, I have no problem making a fairly hard (nowhere close to panic) shutdown in less than 1000 feet to make the first turnoff at the dragstrip after a 125+ mph pass. I'm using base JL9 rotors, custom drilled to look like J55's, and J55 rear calipers. Current pads are Oreilly's (brand unknown) at less than $50 per axle.

Could I get better pads? Absolutely. Do I normally drive in a manner that would require better pads? No. Will I buy better pads when I do my next brake job? Most likely.

In traffic, I tend to watch my mirror to slow at a rate that allows the car behind me as much time and space as possible to avoid a rear end collision, yet avoiding hitting the car in front during their panic stops.
There are very few cars that can stop quicker than the average C6. No matter what you drive, how you drive it is more important than the vehicle itself.

I've been as high as 180 mph and over 150 more times than I can count, but only knowing in advance of how much space for shutdown is available on the road ahead. As aerodynamic as the C6 is, you can still slow down fairly quickly to 130 without touching the brakes. High speed stops can be dangerous and kill rotors if used aggressively. It's why NHRA requires parachutes on cars that exceed 150 mph.
