I know I may get bashed here on the forum but I am not sure anyone else has had an awful experience with MacMulkin like I did. Talking to them about a 2011 Grand Sport and the way they treat and hold customers hostage is down right wrong. They will not allow you to look at a pre-owned until you commit to buy it. Next, in order to drive the car you must leave a "non-refundable deposit". Next, if you do drive and like the car it must be paid for that day and not the day of delivery. They basically said "it's springtime and this is how we do business". I am sure many people have had awesome experiences with them but thought it was important to share my experience. Nonetheless, I will not be buying a car from them ever.
It sucks but some dealers are stuck in the 90's with the way they do business, I don't know how the manufacturers allow them to exist. There are a few here that bought their cars there though. I had one not long ago break out the "4 squares" on me, just have to laugh.

Wow based on your explanation I would walk away and never look back. Don't waste your time. Many dealers are looking to build a good relationship with buyer so you become a repeat customer and better yet, plenty of private individuals who have taken care of their cars and willing to sell them. Lots of web sites offering cars from private individuals worth checking out. Keep looking.

Wow... I bought from a dealership in NC and had just the opposite. We flew down... no deposit or commitment. When we arrived at the dealership, the car was parked prominently in front of the showroom. They didn't ask for our driver's license or anything. Told us to go take it for a blast. We ended up finding out there was a problem that needed to be addressed. A problem that I might have walked away from the car if they hadn't fixed it. They fixed it on the spot and the sale was made.
I don't have a problem with pre-qualifying a prospect but this seems like bad business practice. I would not buy from a dealer that made these demands.
I had one local GMC dealer that wouldn't give me my current car's keys back until I threatened to call the police because I said their deal was pitiful. They finally said "Go find a better deal". The next day I was driving another GMC dealer's new car and parked it right in front to cancel my extended warranty on the old one. Never thought of dealing with them since.
And to think ... I had a great buying experience with MacMulkin way back in 2011 when I bought my 2011 GS from them.
I was living in the Philippines. Got the internet price from right here on the Corvette Forum. I dealt directly with Tommy MacMulkin JR, and wired them the money (bank to bank transfer).
Then I flew Delta back to the US (14 hour flight) with a final destination of the Nashua airport. They picked me up at the airport and took me to a local hotel. Then picked me up the next morning and to the dealership. Within an hour of arriving at the dealership, I was on the road to Florida.
No BS "Dealer Prep" charges ... No "Add-On" window sticker costs ... No pressure to buy extended warranties or other BS ... Just a great discount from the factory applied window sticker.
Maybe something has changed at MacMulkin ? ?
