What It Takes To Sell A Corvette
Very confused about what it takes to sell a Corvette, mine was on Craig's List for about 3 months in 5 major cities, nice big ad with good description and lots of photos, and now I have it in Vette Finders for about a month. I've had one gentleman who seemed very interested from Dallas but then he bought a C-7. I check with what's available out there and mine compares to the others, in fact a little less in price but right in the ballpark at least from what I see.
So what does it take, I wont give it away so that's out but I would consider a legit offer also. Maybe because I'm located in a rural out of the way city, too many for sale is a concern also, I just don't know. I really thought Id have some serious buyers by now Dealer made me a ridiculous offer which I told him to shove it.

Selling a Corvette is no different than any other vehicle. Take into consideration what like vehicles are selling for not what someone is asking for. I regularly trade our daily vehicles every two years. So I don’t have expertise in selling but I’m pretty good at where my vehicle trade value is. Kbb is unrealistic, Nada is close but Edmonds is the closest for my area anyway.

I have never had an issue selling any of my cars. My 02 MY vert sold to the first guy that looked at it. It helped that he had already seen all the junk for sale before he looked at mine - his words.
It sounds like you are doing the right things but there must be some issue. Have you tried Facebook Marketplace?

A good car that is priced right for its condition and is priced right for the surrounding area will sell. It is sometimes hard to separate emotion from reality.

I buy and sell cars all the time. If it's not selling you are either asking to much or not meeting your target audience. I always list Corvettes or any speciality car on eBay among other places. It's hard to beat eBay's national audience reach.

NSF,
I usually throw a car up on Craigslist for about a month, after that I pull it off and I go to my old favorite autotrader. I seem to get a lot fewer crack pots and tire kickers on autotrader. Vet Finders sounds like a good site. Good Luck!!

2021 C6 of the Year Finalist - Modified
Bobby .... Your GS is the literal twin of my GS (sans the supercharger).
I am going to be heartbroken if you sell it !

I haven't seen your ad, car or asking price. So take this for what it’s worth... maybe a penny
Take it to a few dealers and see what they will give, this should help bring you close to market. On average you’ll net a little more than what they are offering (2-3k more for quick sale). If the car is modified, I feel that In the corvette world you’ve just eliminated 75% of the candidates.
The monies invested in power, suspension, brakes, etc is something you’ve got to accept as pretty much a loss since it’s value is only to a select few. This goes for anything modified.
Most modified sales are lucky to get the average sale price for competitive listings with same mileage and year that is 100% stock.
Listing/asking price is just that and means nothing, what is selling and for how much?
too bad there isn’t a mandatory form for each listing that shows asking price and what it sold for. That would eliminate a lot of questions for most and probably help sell/move more cars. As others have mentioned, go to eBay and let the real world market determine its value.

It takes good pictures, and luck. But that goes for selling most things. Places like craigslist are a waste. Cargurus, autotrader, ebay are worthwhile, but many dont want to buy private party. Its amazing how many private party scams there are on sports cars. Maybe try a consignment lot?
I recently found myself looking at E46 M3s (horrific overpriced in the market today btw), and at least half of the private party listings were obvious scams.

Not having your car listed on this forum is a mistake, as this is the first place I always check when looking for a Corvette.

Buyers 'are' out here - you'll just have to have the right buyer to hit. I bought both my GS's privately, my 2010 3LT was listed in AutoTrader & the 2012 1LT I recently bought was on Ebay, Craigslist & Corvette Forum C6 For Sale. Both of these transactions went smooth and both cars were excellent buys for me. I haven't had the 2012 very long only two months but I can tell its a 'happy' car that had been well taken care of since new based upon condition & documentation. Good luck with your sale.

My '00 Vette sold in under a week for my asking price after I posted it for sale on this forum after multiple offers. Maybe post up what you're asking and an interested party would respond? Your car is beautiful, and should sell quickly.
