2008 C6 Coupe base model. Car has 55,000 miles and at this point no leaks or bulging hoses. I live in New Braunfels, TX so it is rather hot. Is there a proscribed time frame for changing hoses or is 55,000 miles still early? Coolant flush 15,000 miles ago by the way.
I have an 08 I bought new with 139K currently with original hoses. I change the coolant per the recommended time/mileage. One of my friends went 150K with his C5 and he only changed the hoses when he changed the water pump. I just returned from a weekend trip with 80mph highway speeds at 90 degree temps with no problem.
Age will effect hose life far mare than miles. On your '08 I would go ahead and replace the hoses not because they are bad but the age of the hoses. I like to decide when to replace parts rather than the parts failing at the worst possible time.
These cars don't have the same type hoses your grandfathers Studebaker did. They last a lot longer. 157K on my '08 with original hoses, belts, plug wires, etc in hotter'n hell AZ.
