reverse gear

i check to buy a z51 2005 and the seller tell my i need to stop the car on reverse gear……because some some component can stay on…..is it thrue

Yes, a manual tranny 2005 C6 must be shut down with the tranny in reverse. It shuts down all the car's electronics.
