Made appt to get fluid changed in my A6 and diff next week. Was quoted $179 for A6 and $129 for diff, which seems ok. What have others paid for this? Thanks.

I did my own. I paid $29 per quart at my local Chevy parts department. 2 quarts and no limited slip required because it's included. Mine is an A6.
If you are physically able and have a space to DIY, you'll get a better feeling about the car and yourself for the accomplishment. For the same $308, you can buy a floor jack, 4 jackstands, pucks, all the tools, a drain bucket, the fluid, the filter, a tank of gas, and have enough left for lunch.
And don't bother with the differential fluid until at least 100K miles. The owner's manual doesn't even list it on the maintenance schedule.
I actually prefer to use these under the front wheels, because it makes it quicker to level the car. Easy to make from a 12' long 2 x 8. It raises the car 9.5". Gives extra space for oil changes too.
