Default Anybody do D1S LED switch

I am wondering if anybody has switched their low-Beam HID headlight bulbs to a LED D1S. I've seen several brands that are 55W 6000K 5500 Lumens.

I know that I would need to use the HID Ballast feed wire for the LEDs, I'm just curious if they had to extend that set of wires so that it would reach the Low Beam bulb location.

Thanks ahead of time.

Why? LEDs still cant produce as much light as HID bulbs, they're close but not as much. Plus your optics are designed around the light pattern of an HID bulb. Seems like an inconvenience to get worse performance.

They are making improvements all the time in LED lights and I've converted all of my other cars to use LEDs and they are SO MUCH better that my C6 Corvette HID low beams. I know people have converted to the NEW D1S LEDs and I am interested in if they had to extend the Wire Harness to connect to the New LED connector.

I know there are a lot of people that prefer HID and that is ok.

Realize that this is an old thread. I've had great luck in replacing regular Halogen bulbs with LED, and after being disappointed with the light output on my C6, I gave it a try. It wasn't too difficult to achieve, just time consuming, and the lack of a proper connector into the ballast power supply wire was annoying. I was REALLY disappointed by the light output and I think the projector design plays a big role.

I'm still looking for a solution for better light output on the stock C6

I upgraded my lows to a different color temperature (still HID)...6000K. Then matched that with LEDs for the highs in 6000K. Like FAUEE said...our stock light housings are not designed for LEDs for the low beams so the light patterns are going to be all jacked up/not focused correctly. When I put LEDs in my highs the ones I found were actually designed to work as a replacement for the halogens. They work quite well. I haven't found any LEDs that are designed to replace HIDs in our stock housing.

Side note: I also jumpered my fogs so when my highs are on the fogs come on as well...in 6000K...ALL SORTS OF LIGHT to see them deer running out in front of me!
