Default Help Identify Trim Piece

Working on 2008 Convertible, power top was not working. Found this little piece of plastic under where the top stores, near drivers speaker. Can NOT figure out where it came from or should go. Two small retaining pins on the back side.

Any help would be appreciated.

Goes on the bow to minimize rubbing on the top material.

The link to the convertible top install will show you exactly where that trim piece lives in your top. It's got great info including pics.

I had the same item drop off my 2013 GS vert. The plastic nubs just insert into a couple of small slits in the cloth for retention. Not confidence inspiring that they will stay put. I thought about trying to find a small nylon circular retention clip to slide over the nub once it pushes through the cloth, but haven't gone that route yet.

Anybody have the same concerns and identify some method to ensure these parts don't just drop off with repeated use?

The third one by the back window is IMPOSSIBLE to get in! I tried for days once, never did get it.

I would agree. The last bow just before the rear window on the passenger side is where mine was displaced. It was extremely difficult to access and once I found the location, almost impossible to achieve the orientation of the part and the physical ergonomics to put myself into a position to insert the piece. I went to the other side to use as a pattern and unfortunately knocked that one out by doing so. I was finally able to put the two pieces back in place and have no desire to repeat the process. Therefore, I began to determine how to "secure" them in place.

LOL I haven't dropped the top since, not knowing if the protectors would stay in place during the process.

There is no way in this world you did that without taking the roof apart! LOL! I'm trying for four solid hours on a car and it just can't be done! Might have to take the seat out but even then you need four hands!
