C6
Hi all, been thinking about moving up from my C5 to a C6 and was wondering if there is a year or model worth looking for. I want an automatic ( cant believe I said that) and possibly a convertible and loaded. Open to all comments and thanks in advance.

08-13 had the LS3, which was an improvement over the LS2. 10-13 had the launch control option. You'll probably want a 3LT unless you want to deal with the leather coming off of the dash on a 4LT.

In my way of thinking it depends on what you want. Here's what would work for me.
Fully loaded: 4LT (You can get the leather fixed), Nav system, automatic, newest car you can afford.
Worried about resale: Automatic, newest car, stock (no mods), (Convertible an option)
New Classic and keep for 10 years: Convertible, manual trans, z51 or GrandSport. any year (newest better)
That c5 old school visceral feel in a new(er) car: 2005/06 w/ Z51 manual trans SB1, optional Convertible, z06 (any year c6)

2012-2013 cars had the nicer seats, had an optional Bose system that sounds great, and the A6 had reprogramming that gives firmer shifts.

06+ 6 speed 3LT+ would be your best bang for your buck. I'd stay away from the AT if possible.

IMHO..................
Get the newest model you can afford.
Improvements were made every year and '08 was a big year for upgrades.
Get the 3LT trim package (4LT has serious issues with the leather coming up/off the dash) and get the F55/MSRC equipped suspension.
A6/M6/Coupe/Convertible is a personal choice, as is color/etc.

The magnetic ride control wasn't an option with Z51 equipped models. I'd go with the Z51 over the mag ride any day of the week.

Had a C5. 2001. Put 100k miles on it. Bought a C6 in 2011 and currently have just under 60k. C6 is a GS vert. Loved them both, but the C6 is a huge step up in tech and creature comfort. No comparison. Also like the auto w/paddle shifters.
If you have specific questions, let me know.
