I don't mean to beat a dead horse or anything, I have read a ton of different forum and Facebook posts about this, but I still have no really gotten a cut and dry answer about this. I'm hoping to be able to pull the trigger on something in a few weeks. So my lower door speakers are blown and I am wanting to replace them. At first I was just going to buy OEM replacements but then read in a few posts that they are pretty prone to blowing and I would like to not be in this situation again. So after reading a few posts and talking to crutchfield, I am looking at going with these https://www.crutchfield.com/p_091RSE...l-RSE-165.html. So my real question is, do I have to get a new amp or can the factory one work fine? I know I won't get the full potential of the speaker, but is it really a priority to get one? I'm not looking to spend a ton of money or make any major changes to the system as a whole (subs and such), just wanting better constructed speakers and maybe sound improvement if it comes along. I have a 2009 non-bose with a pioneer avic 8200nex head unit.
In my opinion, I would say you have to get a new amp. The factory amp is not only low on power, but also has crossovers built in specific to the factory set up. Also, if you go with 6.5" components in the front, you will also need to add a sub for the system to sound good. So if you are going to do it, I say do it right to make it worth your efforts. Otherwise you will put in a lot of effort and still not be happy with it. If you don't want to add a sub or add an amp, I would say just replace the blown woofers with OEM ones. But I would also suggest replacing the door 3.5" speakers while you have the door panels off. Replacing them with some aftermarket 3.5" (4ohm) speakers will help with the clarity and clean up some of the muddiness of the stock speakers. It would be a simple and inexpensive upgrade, if that's what you are looking for.

Thank you so much for all of that, maybe for now I'll do the oem and 3.5" and down the line I can so the entire set up correctly.
I went with two digital amps under the passenger seat, which are much smaller than regular amps. Two fit under the passenger seat and therefore doesn't loose any precious leg room.
