Car has an AC Delco battery that is to tall and will not allow me to access the cabin air filter without removing the battery. Going back with an Optima Red Top model 35 which has a smaller case. When I disconnect the old battery will I loose anything? If so any way to prevent this? Car is an 08.

You will lose your clock and have to index your windows, however there is a fix for that. Check the forum. I also have an Optima red 35 and can change cabin filter with battery installed.

You indicate there is a fix for the clock issue, can you share the fix or web site with us?
My '06 will need a battery upgrade in the spring. I plan on plugging my battery maintainer into the cigarette lighter to supply the systems power , then removing my battery for replacement. That should keep the clock and navigation systems alive.

I had to disconnect my battery last week to do the "F1Mod" and upgrade my paddle shifters; when I reconnected my battery the clock was gone. I did the "fix" listed on the Tech Forum and was able to get it back.
I had to change my battery last week and I didn't lose anything. Battery was out of the car for about an hour while I went to get the new one. Didn't lose my clock and didn't have to reindex my windows, which surprised me.

. This issue doesn’t not effect 2012 Corvette. Window indexing you we’re lucky. Only effects 2005 - 2009 for clock
