Hello everyone,

This is my first vette! I havent driven it yet and i already love it. Its a c6 grand sport. Not perfect but perfect for me. I was a frequent flyer in a few bmw forums. This would not be my first LS car as i do have a 72 BMW 2002 with an LS3. I Love e36s but thought id give this vette thing a go. I am part of the drifting community but not sure where this vette will land. C6 still gets better gas milage than my e36 M3.

ive already messaged a few people on this board and feel very welcomed. I bought the car in an auction and i have a few things to replace. I dont have the manual but im sure i can find it online? Also, the auction place lost the only keys it had but were willing to pay up to 275 for a new key/fob. Thanks to this forum, i was able to reprogram the new fob.

I’m sure i have a lot to read but i really dont hope its very serious. I finally got it to start up and runs healthy. But theres some type of electrical bugs. Once i was able to start the car, the doors would not open with the sensor handle? Can only be with the pull latch. The trunk also doesnt open. Cant lock or unlock the doors and also the windows dont move. I did read about holding the window button for indexing the windows. Oh yeah, the vert part doesnt move either. I really hope its not the “bad bcm” symptoms.

can anyone point me to the right direction? I promise, once i get good at this, i wont ask silly questions. Okay, no promise. Thanks a ton.

Welcome to the forum. You will find helpful people on this forum, and If you can articulate the symptoms, you can get help for sure.

The first thing you should do is get the battery load tested. These cars are very sensitive to a weak battery, and many things will not work if the battery is not up to 100%

You mentioned that you "finally" got it to start up. What did you have to do to get that accomplished? A boost? if that is the case, your issues are likely battery related.
These cars love to eat up batteries if they do not stay at 100% power. A boost with jumper cables to a run down battery will most likely cause a short in the battery, so if that is the case, you might as well get a new battery, and start fresh.

Any futher info that you can provide will be valuable for all of this community to help you. What is the history of the C6? Was it a flood car, an accident car, etc.

Thanks

I would start with a new, charged battery. Your symptoms sound like a bad BCM. Was this a flood car by chance?
