Hi everyone, I'm hoping someone here may have seen this because a 30 year mechanic at Chevy has not. First let me say that I have replaced the master cylinder and ABS module both pump and electronics. The issue is that when I first get in the car and press the brake pedal it goes to the floor. I can pump the pedal a couple of times and get a nice firm pedal. It will keep that pedal as long as I do not fully release the pedal. I can let it come back up 90% of the way but when it hits a certain sport you can actually see the brake fluid squirting back up into the reservoir. I have a tech 2 and have done the procedure a dozen times and have gone through 3 gallons of brake fluid. The only other component is the booster but I did not think that had anything to do with the brakes when the car was not running. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate them. The car is a 2005. Thanks!
Look up the schematics of a common brake master cylinder and you'll learn a lot on how the system works and maybe figure it out. They are really a very simple mechanism......
No, I did contact Dano523. He suggested running the auto bleed process but also manually bleeding the brakes between each cycle also. I tried this once and it seemed to help but had to get my car to the tuner the following day, I've since got it back but have not had a chance to repeat the procedure. I loss access to the tech 2 I was borrowing so I need to get that back before I can try again. Since tracks are closed I've been a bit more lazy than usual but I'll give update once I complete procedure again.
I just noticed your reply up higher, I do have the front calipers where the bleed screw is pointing down. I checked my other car and sure enough, I hope that's the issue.
I feel really dumb, after I turned the calipers over problem solved. You have no idea how many gallons of brake fluid I've been through trying to resolve this not to mention the $350 I spent on the ABS module and 2 master cylinders I purchased. Special thanks to 2008 Corvette and Dano523 for their help.

And a 30 year tech didn't think of this? Hmm, I would steer clear of him in the future.
....Just like I always tell my wife......just cause a person is a lawyer or doctor doesn't mean they are a good one or are smarter then most. All they did is just pass a bunch of paper test.......
Don’t feel bad. I had a friend helping me manually bleed the brakes on my C6. It was the pump, pump, pump, hold method. It just wasn’t working. Not much fluid escaping when the bleed screw was loosened. Took about an hour of going back and forth to all 4 calipers then discovered he was pumping the clutch pedal !
Hi guys. I have a 2009 Z06 that I use on the track. I have the same problems as dcflat. My brakes were working ok until I installed new rotors and pads in the fall. I bedded the brakes in and put the car in storage. They worked fine but I noticed that only about 3/4 of the pads were making contact with the rotors..??
When I took the car out last week, the brakes were doing the came as dcflats car.
The rotors are not upside down. The bleed screws are facing up.
I still have the problem.
Any ideas??

Go over the work that was done in the fall. You'll find the problem.
Sorry I meant the CALIPERS are not upside down,,..
I found the problem. The master cylinder needed to be fully bled. I usually bleed the brakes using a Motive pressure bleeder and thought that was enough. But somehow air got up into the master. So I had my wife work the brake pedal.
All good now.
